Which situation would most likely result in evolution? -An alligator has no alleles for a scales. -A large population loses a few individuals. -A predator prefers one phenotype to another. -A single individual joins a large population.

You should also explain what aspect of the question you don't understand if you would like us to help you understand both the question and the answer. In this case, a large population losing a few individuals or a single individual joining a large population are not likely to have much affect on the gene pool in that population. Similarly, an alligator losing the allele for scales will probably not have much effect either because that gator is not likely to live until reproductive age. By contrast, if a preditor started selectively removing large numbers of a species based on some trait it would result in evolution. Clear?

couldnt be clearer...:-)

Ok here is the thing evolution is a major change in a sepecies so Yes the alligator with no alleles for scales would be evolution if a large population loses a few individuals then thats just nature and your other choices are all things that are Natures work
