The children's park has become very popular since your club built new play equipment. Use the equation f=4 square root of A to calculate the amount of fence f you need to buy based on the area A of the playground. a. The park currently has an area of 8100 ft^2. How many feet of fencing currently encloses the park? b. Suppose you want to increase the fenced play area to four times its current area. If you can reuse the fencing already at the park, how much new fencing do you need to buy?
f = 4 sqrt 8100 f= 360 we know the area = 8100. Therefore the length of a side is 90ft. So the perimeter of 90 * 4 or 360ft. So the perimeter is the length of fence that is required. b) basically current area * 4 and do everything over and take difference of the perimeter to know how much fence you will need to buy.
so part b would be 360 * 4?
or 360 +360?
if they want to increase the fence play area: 8100*4. then find the length of the sides and perimeter (S*4). from you can calculate perimeter 2 -perimeter 1 to find how much fence you need to buy
32400 = 4*8100, then what?
f = 4 sqrt32400
720
720 is the new perimeter. so you still need to take the difference from the first perimeter.
so it would be 360 again? I'm confused
360ft means the additional fence you will need buy. check this facts: A1 = 8100 A2= 32400 S1 = 90 S2=180 P1=360 P2=720 hope you see difference between the area, sides, and perimeters
