Derivative question...
Please respect the people who will help you and type out your question on OpenStudy, instead of just linking to an image. No one wants to be looking back and forth between an image and your result to help you. Thanks!
Use the quotient rule.
Hi Shadowfiend, Yes I respect everybody here...but sometimes writing questions like this is confusing...so I took a picture instead making it much easier and clearer... :)
Hmm... maybe I'm cutting butter with a chainsaw with that method. You can also split it up into 6x^-1 -8x^-4.
Fair enough :) That means it's our fault and it could be easier. We'll work on it!
@shadowfiend I don't find it to be a problem as long as the person asking questions isn't posting their whole homework assignment. @Unam did you come up with a possible answer?
yeah I got 6x^-1 -8x^-4... so far
What I got is -6x^-2 +32x^-5
"yeah I got 6x^-1 -8x^-4... so far" You didn't take the derivative yet :-)
Ah!! that's why...and yup got the same answer! :) Merci!
Welcome! And if you have something that's more complicated than this... say if it's something over (x^3 +3x^2 + 4), then you definitely should use the quotient rule.
Ah OK...thanks so much!!
And if you haven't looked at Paul's notes, DO! They got my stupid self through the whole calc series, I don't know what I would do without those notes LOL
Thanks thanks!
