When we describe an object's motion, we describe it in relation to a reference point. Explain what is meant by a reference point and why motion must be described in terms of one.

well, when you are driving 30 miles per hours the reference is the road; the car is going 30miles per hour with respect to road. Motion is always relative to something.

Have u ever sat in a stationery train at a station, when it is next to another stationery train????

Sometimes the adjacent train starts moving in the opposite direction and we get the feeling that our train is moving.

However, when that train has passed we find the platform still there showing that our train is stationery and the other one was moving. To judge whether an object is in motion or not, we need to compare its position in relation to some object (normally a stationery object) with passage of time. If the position of that object changes then we have motion.
