Neither sentence sounds good because neither sentence is grammatically correct. Your pronouns do not agree. "You" is second person singular (could be plural too, but doesn't appear to be in this case) and their is third person plural. To make the sentence correct it should be: The only rewards you would get is a rise in your pay check or a promotion. OR The only rewards they would get are a rise in their pay checks or promotions.
