Joanne works two jobs to pay for college. She tutors for $25 per hour and also works as a receptionist for $12 per hour. Due to her class and study schedule, Joanne is only able to work up to 25 hours per week, but must earn at least $200 per week. If t represents the number of hours Joanne tutors and r represents the number of hours she works as a receptionist, which system of inequalities represents this scenario?

let y be hours worked as tutor and x be hours worked as receptionist now as the constraints are given, she can work a maximum of x+y=<25 but she must earn atleast 200 bucks, so, 12x+25y>=200 also, x,y>=0 (hours can't be negative!) when you plot both these lines as shown above the you get a region which is the intersection of the acceptable values of x and y. and so, x and y can take any values (corresponding to one another ofcourse) from the region. |dw:1332418484075:dw|
