how do i find the average?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

sum the terms and divide by the number of terms

OpenStudy (across):

In other words, what bahrom7893 said was try doing this:\[\frac{\text{banana}_1+\text{banana}_2+\cdots+\text{banana}_n}{n}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should add all the terms and divide by the total no. of terms. eg: Average of 55 and 25 (55 + 25)/2 = 80/2 = 40

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

Suppose I have the data numbers x and the frequency of each is f, i.e. the data points are (x1, f1), (x2, f2) etc. <x> = ∑fx / ∑f, where <x> is the average

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what if all the numbers are the same? example 10 10 10 10 10 10 whats the average?

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

10
