Which unit would be the best for measuring the amount of water in a bathtub? Choices: hectoliters kiloliters liters milliliters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

liters i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

depends on the person...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and it depends on the scale you're using

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a normal person

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a normal bathtub

OpenStudy (phi):

measuring in hectoliters will give numbers reasonably close to 1. People like small numbers near one.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

liters.. a normal bathtub holds about 35 to 40 liters....

OpenStudy (phi):

Of course, nobody uses hectoliters. Around here they don't use liters either.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

what do they use around there.. gallons??

OpenStudy (phi):

we use the term "tub" As in I need a tub of water.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, the average bath tub holds about 200 liters...and a hectoliter is 100 liters. so it depends, would you rather say 2 hectoliters or 200 liters? kiloliters would be silly...

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

as professor walter lewin says... "we need to use 'civilised' units"... tch-tch.. (just kidding) :O

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

iam positive a bath tub holds about 30-40 liters. at max 50. we are not using a jacuzzi pool, are we?? that is big like 200 liters or so!!

once again, it's up for interpretation, this question sucks.
