I could use some refreshing on this. Divide and simplify (type exponential notation with positive exponents) example: x^6/x^12

OpenStudy (earthcitizen):

\[x ^{6-12}=x ^{-6}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what would it be if the answer needs to have positive exponents?

OpenStudy (earthcitizen):

it would be \[1/x ^{?}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it just be x^6?

OpenStudy (earthcitizen):

\[1/x ^{6}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
