For this ODE problem: "Solve the differential equation y'' - 9y = 4t - δ_2(t); y() = -2, y'(0) = -1 for y(t) when 0 <= t < 2 as well as when t > 2.", could someone please tell me if I am on the right track?: http://f.imgtmp.com/FWar3.jpg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (s3a):

Yay! Now the next problem is that I know the following formula: L^(-1) ( e^(-cs) G(s) ) = u_c(t) * g(t - c) where L{g(t)} = G(s) but I'm having trouble using it on the G(s)/(s^2 - 4) part of my work. What must I do?

OpenStudy (s3a):

@imranmeah91, I just needed a little push in the right direction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on, I am reviewing this stuff

OpenStudy (s3a):

Alright :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think you are using right formula, because it is a step function you are trying to take inverse laplace transform of

OpenStudy (anonymous):

G(s) --------- s^2-4 we will need to know what G(s) is

OpenStudy (s3a):

G(s) = L{g(t)} and g(t) is known.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zarkon, can you help

OpenStudy (s3a):

If you need me to say or do something, tell me.

OpenStudy (s3a):

I don't think he's on his computer. :(

OpenStudy (s3a):

If you have a vague idea, tell me and I can try and exploit it with you.

OpenStudy (s3a):

@satellite73 would you be able to help with this problem by any chance?

OpenStudy (s3a):

Here is my latest attempt: http://f.imgtmp.com/GMNR1.jpg

I just realized I asked the wrong question here! I'm making another post.
