No one has a clue how to answer my question? The sets and are given below. M={d,g,i} B={c,f,g} Find the union of M and B . Find the intersection of M and B . Write your answers using set notation.
union of any two sets contains all the combined elements of those two sets. intersection contains only the common elements of the two sets. now what do you think the answer should be??
intersection G?
yeah. and what about union? (dont forget to write it in set notations and use small 'g' as mentioned in question)
I am still not understanding the union. my guess is c,d,f,g,i ?
what you wrote last is the union of M and B, the collection of everything from M and B.
now the intersection is just the collection of elements they have in common....
Thank you so much! What kind of math is this?
this can be a combination... it is used in all math from algebra all the way up...
this is set-theory!!
Thanks for the putting it in real words for me to understand the math book makes it way harder than it was :-)
