A muscle cell undergoes glycolysis to generate pyruvate. Considering that the cell remains under aerobic conditions and moves on to the ETC via the Krebs cycle, which of the following would be the final electron acceptor in this case? a. hydrogen b. nitrate c. oxygen

OpenStudy (blues):

It helps us help you understand the question if you also explain what part of it you would like help with (aside from the answer.) Some people prefer to post their best guess and how they came to it and ask for a check of their work - which is fine too. :D In this case, the key term is "aerobic conditions." What is required for respiration to be aerobic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its c.?

OpenStudy (blues):

Yes, I think it is. Aerobic implies oxygen. For the record, I also think it is a poorly worded question. Glycolysis and electron transport are simultaneous processes - the entire cell doesn't do glycolysis, then shift gears and do electron transport as the question seems to imply. Both happen at the same time to different molecules.

thats why i didnt understand itt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oxygen
