The word seta derives from the Latin word for bristle. What do you think? Do either spines or tube feet resemble bristles?

Calliope is right: the setae on segemented worms and spines on echinoderms both stick out of organisms but they have different structural characteristics and different functions. Setae are basically sensory; spines are for protection.
