what does it mean to round to the nearest tenth?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

hmmm..say you have 3.14159245 (dunno if that's the real value) the tenth would be 1 so rounding to the nearest tenth would give you 3...this is what i know...but im not very sure with it sorry..just 51% sure

You would round to the nearest .x......so for the previous example it would be 3.1.

Round to the second decimal point. 9.78956 would become 9.79, 6.7836 would be 6.78, etc. If the third decimal point is 5 or higher, add 1 to the second. If lower than 5, the second decimal stays the same and is just cut off after the 2nd decimal place. Make sense?
