can ANYBODY help me with geometry problems ? Please ?
What problem?
that's why we are here... throw one out and see what happens
The locus of points in a plane at a given distance from a given point is ? a . one point b . one line c . a pair of lines d a circle @G
@GT
@philips13 ive probably messaged about 20 people about questions and half of them didnt even respond to me and the other half couldt help me..... i really frustrated ...
ok, put your finger on the table, that is the given point
now arrange as much stuff on the table as you can, all of it the same distance from your finger
are they all on top of each other? that would be another point
theres no diagram for this ..... @philips13
d a circle
@GT Thank you
gt is right, but he used magic
do you want to learn this stuff? or do you just need the answers?
happy to help either way, if I can
I want to learn it but ... but the thing is im that smart so its hard for me to get things fast @philips13
* im not @phili
got a few coins handy?
The problem is the problem itself. Terminology and jargon filled. If it was stated simply as "what is the shape you get when you draw points equal distance away from a given point", it might actually be less intimidating.
very true, GT but that is what EVERY book says a circle is
Unfortunate.
Ummmm..... I actually need help with a few more questions but i dont have any coins cause i just started a few hours ago ......
ok princess... hit us with the next one and forget my last post... doesnt matter
Ok. So you find a treasure map right ? And the map shows a treasure hidden in the park near a tree and a statue . The map says that the tree and the statue are 10 feet apart . now the treasure is buried 7 feet from the base of the tree and also 5 feet from the base of the statue . how many places are possible locations for the treasure to be buried ? a. 1 b. 2 c 3 d 4 5 0 @philips13
grab three coins and a ruler
Ok.
put two coins on the table 10 inches apart from each other... these are the tree and the statue
ok
now, how many places can you put the last coin so that it is 5 inches from one and 7 inches from the other?
one ?
I think it's more than that
@philips13
ohhhh
when you say five inches from one and seven from the other you talkin bout the two coins ?
yes... instead of feet in the park we are using inches on the table
Is there anyplace else you can put something 7 inches from the coin on the left and 5 inches from the coin on the right?
or is that the only place on the table that is 7 inches from the coin on the left and 5 inches from the coin on the right?
