solve for y 5x-4y=8

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

-4y=-5x+8 divide everyting by -4: y=(5/4)x-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got y=(8-5x)/-4 and idk what to do now

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

that's correct too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but they are saying something about it can be simplified

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

y=(5/4)x-2 that's that simplified

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok sorry thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x-4y=8,now this is a function on the graph.so let:x=0,then 5(0)-4y=8,-4y=8,y=-2.u can prove this by replacing y=-2&x=0
