Simplify (3x^2-4x+1)-(2x+x^-9)
Hi, For this question, we have to use the FOIL Method which states the following: First Outer Inner Last Therefore, when applying this method we get the following as a result: [4x][x] + [4x][-3] + [2][x] + [2][-3] Now, while the above is correct thus far, we now have to simplify it by completing the multiplication to get: 4x^2 - 12x + 2x - 6 Finally, notice that we can combine the 'd' terms to get: 4x^2 - 10x - 6 <== FINAL ANSWER
something seems wrong @roh.. uhmm the problem is subtraction...FOIL is in multiplication of polynomials. please review your answer ^_^ btw i tried doing this...and i got stuck with the x^-9
@Igbasallote oh no i forgot pls correct
@SCOOT...i think the second polynomial should be 2x + x^2 -9 yes? however, if that really is the problem then it would go as.. 3x^2 - 4x + 1 - 2x -x^-9 -1/x^9 + 3x^2 - 6x +1
