at http://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/Classes/DE/Linear.aspx in example 1, the p(t)=0.196 why not is it p(t)=0.196v, where has the v gone?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

because the form is\[y'+p(t)y=q(t)\]here it is \(v\) instead of \(y\)\[v'+p(t)v=q(t)\]so the bit next to the v is p(t)=0.196

OpenStudy (anonymous):

didn't get that :(

OpenStudy (turingtest):

whatever function is multiplying by the variable you are trying to solve for is p(t)

OpenStudy (turingtest):

here you are solving for v hence p(t) is the thing multiplied by v in the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okkk got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thankssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss a tonne bro

OpenStudy (turingtest):

no problemoo!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TuringTest what is this new functionality of this website? on my question it is giving me two options bump or close, what does it mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as my question is now solved so should I close it?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

you can only have one active question at a time that way people don't post 5 at once yes, close it, you can still find it by hitting "closed question" it's just not on the main board anymore
