If a patient only has neutrophils and macrophages, what would be absent from the immune response?

Neutrophil and macrophages are part of the first line of defense, meaning it just goes around and destroy anything that does not belong to the body

So if the rest are missing, then the immune system wont have 2nd and 3rd line of defense, which is extremely important.

The first line of defense cannot take out all the pathogens, especially viruses

If you need more info, look for the function of the lymphocytes > t-cell, b-cell etc

I believe cmkc109 made a small typo, the Innate immunity system is considered 2nd line of defence, so there would be no third line of defence (adaptive immunity response).

first line is basically the skin or other layers that dont really have any action on the pathogen
