A racing car (total mass = 1000 kg) is moving with a speed of 150 km/h. (a) The driver begins to brake to a complete stop in a straight path. What is the shortest distance possible for the car to travel during the brake? The coefficient of static friction between tires and road is 1 and the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.7. (b) the driver decides to make a 90 degree turn while maintaining the same speed (150 km/h) all the time along the curve. What is the shortest distance to travel from the beginning to the end of the turn?
