how do u workout the equation of a line from a graph?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i think point-slope form could work..pick a point on the line then substitute to y - y1 = m(x-x1)

OpenStudy (experimentx):

get any two points, (better distinct) put those values on y = mx+c ---- 1 get two equations and solve c and m put the values in 1 you have your equatins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take two points of the line going from left to the right: for example (x,y) and (u,v) find the slope: (v-y)/(u-x)=m now plug the value m and (x1,y1) one of your chousen points in to equation @lgbasallote wrote

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1) Find x-intercept and y-intercept (can be seen from graph) 2) Calculate slope by using the x-intercept and y-intercept found 3) combine the above result by y=mx+c ^ ^ y-intercept Slope

ah thanks i undersand now
