please help. i dont understand this, i just needa little help starting this:) Choose one of the allusions from the previous lesson (or one of your own choice) and use it to write a brief (one paragraph) character sketch or story situation in which the allusion enhances what you are trying to say. In other words, if you are writing a character sketch of someone who is compassionate and giving to others, you might want to refer to her as a "Mother Teresa" to help the reader identify with the kind of character you are creating. Do not just throw in an allusion that doesn't add to your charac

Halo, When you are working with this student, be sure to help her understand the concepts. Point her in the right direction, give her examples, whatever best fits the situation, but do not simply do her work for her. K?

Maybe if you see some examples of allusions, you can come up with one of your own. I hope this helps: Example of Allusion **An allusion is a reference to a well-known person, place, event, literary work or work of art. For example: -It has rained so long, it seems as though it has rained for 40 days and nights (This is reference to Noah's Arc, which is a well-known event). -Harriet Tubman was called the Moses of her time. -To act or not to act, that was Maria's dilemma. -The final game was John's Waterloo. -Sue did not want to endure Eve's curse, so she opted for the epidural. -The killer wore a mark of Cain as he stalked his brother - refering to the Bible story: Cain and Abel. As for the writing, itself: One paragraph is easy-peasy! It's literally 5 sentences, or so. Once you come up with an idea, and get started, you'll have a hard time keeping it to JUST one paragraph. Good luck!
