percent of increase 120 to 200
40
You're still trying to figure these out @AngelDreamGurl ?
YES *puppy dog face* LOL
What seems to be the trouble with following the formula I gave you?
its kind of confusing
What exactly is so confusing about it? All you do is plug in the numbers
what is the formula, Hero? Wish I had one of those when I was in school
\[\% \Delta = \frac{|a - b|}{a} \times 100\] a = old number b = new number
on this one, I would say to myself, self, 80 is what percent of 120?
applying absolute value symbols are important for this one
yes, and those are some daunting symbols if you aren't in precalc or beyond
\[\% \Delta = \frac{|120 - 200|}{120} \times 100\]
66.6
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i missed the absolute value sign
\[\% \Delta \space \text{= percent change}\]
There's nothing daunting about that
delta and the absolute value signs are... at first
@tutor_guy , did you want to say something? Probably to dispute my formula
No, I actually gave @AngelDreamGurl similar formula as yours. :)))
that's the formula all right, been using it over 50 years now, just never saw it written formally like that before. I just knew that increase was change/start
and that percent always mean to divide by 100
