Let s= the number of car sales in dollars. Equation 1 \[f(s)=.02(s) +600\] \[g(s)= .01(s) +1000\] The income will be the same when the two equations equal each other. \[600+.02(s)=1000+.01(s)\]\[(.02-.01)(s)=400\]\[.01(s)=400\]\[s=40,000\] You could also graph the two equations and find the intersection.
