I attempted to solve this triangle several times using Law of Cos.... But I get a Domain Error.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by cosine theorem, 31^2 =17^2 + 22^2 -2(17)(22) cos abc by calculation, we can get abc

I meant the seperate angles - m<A, m<B, m<C

Also @CoCoTsoi Thats the same equation I set up, with cos B as my unknown. Thats where I ran into problems

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I subtracted 17^2 + 22^2 from 31^2. That gave me -138915. Then I divided by -2(17)(22). I tried to take the inverse of this fraction, but my calculator informed of a domain error......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

31^2 =17^2 + 22^2 -2(17)(22) cos abc cos abc = (31^2 -17^2 -22^2)/(-2)(17)(22) cosB = -0.25133 B=105 17/sin C = 31/sinB C=32 A=180-B-C=43
