OpenStudy (anonymous):

I refuse to accept "umami" as a word. Why has it become so trendy to use a Japanese word for something that we've always just described with the English word "savouriness"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea, this word became so populat ... that people just refer savoury as umami

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's wrong with "savoury"? Everyone knows what it means. No need to start using strange foreign words when an English one will do.
