what's the most important thing in organic Chemistry?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are tons of important things in organic chem. Which one is the most important I couldn't say. Not procrastinating and doing the home work is probably it. :p Is this a homework question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I have an organic Chemistry exam tomorrow and I really need help. I only know the basic, what would you suggest for beginners?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Read the chapters assigned, do the practice problems at the end of the chapter without looking at the answers, then if you get stuck on a concept post it on here and someone should explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I only have a few hours to learn it all, what's the most important thing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's not how chem works. You can't just learn all of it in a couple of hours. There is no one things that I can tell you that will help. Read the book till your test starts. A few hours is plenty to go through whatever you need to go through.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that's not how it works and there's a reason I didn't start to study before, I was just wondering if anyone could list some points that are like essential.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Memorize as many of the basic reactions as you can Try to understand the basics of resonance Don't worry about learning mechanisms, that takes more than hours. In all probability, what you want is not possible here. Your best bet is to beg your professor for an extension, as you might be able to pass if you cram for a week.

How about I post the review from my book.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you. Yea, that would be great shamalamadingdong!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, take your time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you, I'm gonna read it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the review and key concepts for general organic. Hope that helps.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It will. Do you have something on carbon chains? I'm having a hard time trying to create them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What problem were you having? Just make sure each carbon has 4 bonds by adding H's and your done.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. I will let you know if it gets complicated.
