Can someone help?? One student completed a cookie mining experiment in a very short period of time. In your own words, explain how “time is money” in the cookie mining experiment and apply it to the real world.
...Cookie... mining....?
@exuras Cookie mining is an activity that you do in class. Its kinda like a lab. We get certain monopoly money that we are aloud to use to buy different kinds of chocolate chip cookies (they differ in the amount of chocolate chips) and a tool to use to mine (so like a toothpick, etc) The cookies with more chips are more expensive and certain tool are more expensive. And then the teacher sets a timer for 2 minutes I think and your are to put your cookie on a sheet of graph paper and then "mine" the chips out with making as little of a mess as possible while getting as many chips out as possible. I loved that activity when we did it in grade 7. It was my favorite experiment because you got to eat it afterwards! As for the answer: according to the cookie and tools you chose, you probably have to conclude on how a different tool or cookie would have been better. Like a cookie with lesser chips and a good tool would probably have aloud you to get all the chips as opposed to a cookie with many chips.
Oh well thank you for explaining the concept to me, i had no idea and never done that particular experiment.
No problem :) Its a fun experiment!
