\[7z + 3 < 6z - 5\]\[6z - 7z - 5 > 3\] Inequality changes when sign changes. (So < became >) \[6z - 7z > 5 + 3\]\[6z - 7z > 8\]\[-z > 8\]\[z < -8\] Again, as we changed the sign, inequality changed.
