Sharon was looking at equations of odd-degree polynomials, and at the end behavior of each graph. She noticed that if the polynomial had a positive leading coefficient the graph rose on the right, and if the leading coefficient was negative the graph fell on the right. What reasoning did Olivia use?

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

What are the different possible reasonings for this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

algebraic,counterexample, inductive,deductive. my bad

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

I would imagine this would be inductive reasoning. She looks at a few specific graphs, and generalized it to all odd polynomials.
