I NEED HELP a-2/a^2+5a+6 - 2a-3/3a^2+9a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this subtracting two fractions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you factor a^2 + 5a + 6 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well factor the denominators... and then put the fractions into common denominators

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did you get for a^2 + 5a + 6 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats it... now the other one 3a^2 + 9a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so we have: \[{a-2 \over (a+3)(a+2)} - {2a-3 \over 3(a+3)}\] now what is the first denominator missing from the second one?
