Couple of GFC questions? What is the Greatest Common Factor of x^6 and x^4? Factor completely: 6x - 18? Factor completely: 5x^2 + 20x?

OpenStudy (radar):

x^4 6(x-3) 5x(x+4) Do you understand how these were obtained?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh nevermind i see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (radar):

GCF (Greatest Common Factor) Looking at X^6 and x^4 you are to determine the largest common factor in those two values. Since x^4 is contained with in x^6 (x^4)(x^2) and of course it is in x^4 (x^4*1) then x^4 is the largest common factor. Just like 8 and 2 the GCF is 2. 12, 3 GCF is 3 etc.

OpenStudy (radar):

Oh good luck then with these.
