verify 1+cos(theta)/sin(theta) + tan(theta) = cot theta for Theta = 45

OpenStudy (experimentx):

you sure you typed question well??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think no it isn't

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly the way it is, we are doing trig identities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the RS will end up 3 and the LS is 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what? this is to verify if LHS = RHS. so that means that this expression are not identities?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no because you state for theta=45

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what the question states

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and if that's the case LHS=3 not equal to RHS=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How exactly do you get 3 and 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos theta/sintheta=cot theta and this becomes 1+cot theta + tan theta =cot theta cot 45=1 tan 45=1 so 1+1+1=1 3 not equal to 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. appearaantly, they are identities, they do equal each other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

may be the identity is: 1+cos(theta)/sin(theta) - tan(theta) = cot theta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Il post a pic of the solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@anonymoustwo44

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

appearantely, LHS = RHS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh I thouht you where implying 1+(cos theta/ sin theta)+tan theta=cot theta not (1+costheta)/(sinheta+tantheta)=cot theta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, I put paranthesis on theta not on (cos theta / sin theta)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks anyways:)

you should try to learn latex ... it really helps.
