Which equation has this graph? (see attachment) y = x2 - 6x + 5 y = -x2 - 6x + 5 y = -x2 - 6x - 5 y = x2 + 6x - 5

The first one

If an equation has degree 2 (Meaning the highest exponent for x is 2) and the coefficient for x^2 is negative, then the parabola opens down. This rules out option B and C. Those would both be downward opening parabolas (Sad face) Now, just pick a point on the graph and see if it satisfies the remaining two equations. I like the point (0,5) because it's easy to calculate. Check: (0)^2 -6(0) + 5 = 5? (0)^2 +6(0) - 5 = 5?
