okay. well wouldnt you square the 3, 2, and 12, so it would be 9-4(12)? which is -39?

no absolutly not: you have to factor this out: \[(3-2\sqrt{12})(3-2\sqrt{12})\]

9- 6 radical 12- 6 radical 12 + 4 radical 12?

the answer is 54-27sqrt(3), try and work it out
