Solve the following system of equations. x + 4y + z = –10 3x – 3y + 6z = –21 x + 2y + 2z = –10 (1, –2, –3) (–4, –1, –2) (–3, –2, –3) (2, –2, –4)

do you want to know how I would do this if given those choices or do you want to know how to do this without those choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

w/o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on a multiple choice exam/quiz i'd just plug away at those choices to see which one fits all three equations.... because of time constraints.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. you know elimination?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

looking at the system, it looks like it'd be easier if we eliminate the x-variable... so take equation 1 and equation 2 and eliminate the x variable.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll do it too...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay
