Is the limit of (-1)^n as n approaches infinity convergent or divergent, and why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divergent because x will alternate between being positive and negative.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

I don't think there is a limit here at all.\[(-1)^n\]is simply 1 or -1 depending on the value of 'n'. so as 'n' approaches infinity, this expressions values is undefined.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

unless there is a 'sum' missing from the question?
