how do you calculate the tension in piece of string?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

make an FBD and calculate. there is no specific formula. if you can post an example question, it 'll help to illustrate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a 2kg mass is attached to a 3kg mass by a string. The system is on a frictionless surface. If a force of 25N is applied to the 3kg mass, diorected away from the 2kg mass, calulate the tension of the string.

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

Easy. make a free body diagram and apply newton's 2nd law of motion. The simpler situation.

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

apoorvk is right.

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

draw free body diagram.

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

@Blooper9671111 i said you something. are you going to draw free body diagram or not?

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

I think blooper9671111 is not intrested in his question. therefore he is not contributing to this question.
