Write an equation of a line containing the given points and parellel to the given line. (4,-5); 5x-9y=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Parallel, meaning the graphs would have to contain the same slope but a different y-intercept. Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I dont understand how to write the equation.

You are given the equation: 5x-9y = 8. You are asked to write the equation of a graph parallel to that one. Parallel, meaning the slope of 5x-9y = 8 is equal to the equation of the graph you are trying to find, however, it has a different y-intercept. Now if you are given a point(4, -5) on the line you're trying to find, how can you use that and the slope to find your parallel graph?
