secondary succession always occur after primary true or false?

I would assume yes. Primary means it happens first or is more important. Secondary has the same root as Second. I'm not sure how you could have a secondary succession without a first one.

Actually, though that was a very logical reply, @PsychoTink, I believe the answer is false. Primary and Secondary (in this case) refer to two different /types/ of succession, rather than a sequence of events. Primary succession occurs when an area devoid of life and soil is being first colonized. Think primary as in first - the first organisms are coming to colonize a new area. Secondary succession occurs when a fire or comparable event strikes an ecosystem, and temporarily destroys an area of land. The process of repopulating the area begins - think secondary as in the area was previously inhabited.
