anyone good at Precalculus and areas??

OpenStudy (turingtest):

well you know the area of the circle so you just need to subtract the area of the hexagon, which is made up of 6 isosceles triangles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it explains on the third page kinda but i dont get where they are getting some the numbers from like 5/2 and sqroot 3 and 6

OpenStudy (turingtest):

I would solve the problem slightly differently, and I'm a bit tired, so I don't feel like reconciling my approach with that of the link it comes down to "what is the area of each triangle that make of the hexagon?" there are many ways to find that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you cut it into 6 triangles or 12?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

six iscosceles triangles make up a hexagon|dw:1334629920123:dw|from this you should be able to find the area of the triangle subtract the area of six of them from that of the circle and that is the remaining shaded area
