I'm thinking which to learn as a second foreign language among Franch, German and Spanish. Which is used more widely or which is more useful in hospitality area?
spanish is used more commonly around the world because there are many spanish speaking countries (i.e. in central america, south america and spain). as for french, there's france and a few french speaking countries near by and some in africa, and there are a lot of islands around the world that speak french as well. oh, don't forget about canada! lol i don't know much about german. also, what do you mean by hospitality area?
That's true. There are definitely more Spanish speakers around the world than there are French speakers. Having said that, it also depends on how you might be applying that language and whether you intend to study abroad or perhaps live overseas.
I think you should also consider which language you find the most interesting. Learning a new language is a long journey especially if you plan to have any decent level of fluency for a work situation.
more people take spanish, its an easier course since a lot of words are related in english
As several people said Spanish is the one used very widely. Moreover if you learn Spanish it can help for when you want to learn french and Italian. I know Spanish and it helped a lot when I was learning French....and Italian well...needless to say they are very similar.
that's because spanish, french, italian, etc. are all romantic languages, therefore similar and easier to learn.
All these languages are important but spanish is more used around the world.
Yeah, got to agree with @Gigijiji and in my opinion i belive Spanish it's the most worldwide language between the ones u mentioned. Inside Europe, i would bet my learnings in German, but ouside, i would choose Spanish, no doubt!
Well for a hospitality job, that depends on where you live, or where you would like to work. Like if you were to live in Texas or California, learning Spanish would be your best choice. But if you lived in like Quebec or somewhere with lots of French speakers, then French would be best to learn. And German, well I don't really know where else there are large populations of German speakers outside of Europe like there are for Spanish and French.... But according to this http://www.vistawide.com/languages/top_30_languages.htm There's more Spanish speakers than German, and apparently more German than French speakers in the world. And like others have said, since French and Spanish are romance languages, either one could help with learning the other later on if you'd like.
Spanish, followed by French followed by German in terms of world population. I find Spanish easier then French easier than German. I am more motivated in French so make greater progress. It's hard learning another language and I think that choosing the one in which YOU are genuinely motivated will likelier result in success.
