What happens when the stomata on a plant's leaves are open? Answer Oxygen and water escape the leaves and carbon dioxide enters it. Sugars and nutrients are transported up to the leaves from the roots. Sunlight is able to enter the leaves and photosynthesis takes place. Water enters the leaves and carbon dioxide escapes from the leaves.

Stomata are pores in the leaves bottom surface. Through this pore the plant exchange gases and release water steam. So the answer is Oxygen and water escape the leaves and carbon dioxide enters it.

PLants take in carbon dioxide and take out oxygen through stomata sugar and nutrients transportation are not necessarily relate to stomata so i will go for answer 1
