what is scratch programming language is it useful to learn it??

It looks very similar to the Alice language. Looks like a good way to get started with learning programming. It will teach you generic programming ideas, rather than a language that you will continue on with for harder programming problems.

i did read the wikipedia... the experience of the people who are coming here may fetch me a better answer... for that reason i bumped this question into this...

Scratch is a programming environment designed to introduce general programming ideas by allowing you to develop animated stuff.

It's a nice way to introduce programming to new folks; the standard "print hello world on a black screen with white text" is underwhelming to new folks, especially in this age of smartphones, whereas Scratch lets you create really nice shows even with novice programming skills (only knowledge of variables and basic control structures).

This is why harvard's http://cs50.tv introduces the students to scratch before C.
