What is the wavelength (meters) and type of wave for frequency, 1 × 107? PLEASE HELP

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

wavelength = wave speed / frequency you got frequency, speed of light is 'c' = 3 x 10^8 m/sec. You can find wavelength now, I guess. For the type of wave, match wavelength or frequency with the spectrum series. LINK> http://www.lbl.gov/images/MicroWorlds/EMSpec.gif

I'm still confused. What do i do?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

I listed the formula above. Feed data, cross-multiply and calculate.

I wrote my problem wrong. 1 X 10^7.. Sorry . But um, could you write an example problem and show me step by step? (this is my weak subject)

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Well, okay I 'll give you an example. suppose, x = yz given, x = 12 , y=4. Can you find 'z'?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

z = 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so now, your formula is lambda = c/f where you know c (3 * 10^8) and f (1 * 10^7). What's lambda going to be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if my frequency was 5 * 10^6, my wavelength would be (3 * 10^8)/(5 * 10^6) = 60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct!

That's all that i have to do? That's easy.. Thank you.
