hello, how do i find intercepts?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the x intercept you set y to 0, to fine the y intercemt you set x to 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the basics but for example x^2-x find x and y intercepts

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what the first guy said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no y intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y intercept : 0-0 : (0,0) x-intercepts : 0 = x^2 - x ???????????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i find the x intercept? x(x-1) ?? so the x-int is -1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i know now lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you want to find the Y intercept just put the value of x as 0(zero) and you will find y intercept , now if you hve to find the X intercept put the value of Y as 0. mean the instead of writing x write 0 in place and instead of writing y write 0 in place. .

thank you !

For your example of x^2 - x, there are two values for X! be careful. Google has a good graphing function if you need some help: http://www.google.com/search?aq=f&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=graph+x%5E2+-+x
