What are the similarities between Archaea and Eubacteria?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are both prokaryotes so both of them do not have nucleus. They both have circular chromosomes, and their ribosomes are fundamentally similar in structure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do they both lack membrane-bound organelles and are single-celled?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not that i know of.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no prob.

OpenStudy (blues):

They are both single celled. In general, bacteria live in more permisible environments while Archaea are so called 'extremophiles' living in sea vents, vastly salty, hot, sulphurous or otherwise inhospitable environments. I add that Archaea are incredibly understudied so it is difficult to make generalisations like that about them.
