While the DNA in a human skin cell was being replicated, a single base was miscopied. What will be the most likely result of this for the cell in which it happened? All the proteins the cell creates from the miscopied strand will do different jobs than the old ones. If the new sequence codes for the same amino acid as the original cell, it will function normally. Both new DNA strands will end up together in a new cell, and the inaccurate one will be discarded. Any miscopied DNA will be replaced with an accurate DNA copy once the cell divides

If the protein is created incorrectly it will probably not serve a function at all. Luckily, there's some error allowed in the genetic code since more than one codon can code for the same amino acid. Since the cell has nothing to compare it to, unless the mutation is life-threatening it will simply continue to keep the old inaccurate base. A codon is just a set of 3 bases that codes for 1 amino acid. There are about 20 amino acids and 64 possible combination of codons, so you can see that there's some overlap of multiple codons coding for the same amino acid.

which would it be?

What do you need more help with explaining?

I don´t understand the explanation

Would it be A?
