OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

The volume of a rectangular box is given by the formula V=lwh, where l=length,w=width, and h=height. What happens to the volume if the length and height are doubled and the width tripled?

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

would it just be \[V=l^{2}w ^{3}h ^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have the right numbers, but not at the right spot :-) When they say that h is doubled, that means that h' = 2*h. Same goes for the rest

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

or 2l*3w*2h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, so you can just combine all the coefficient and that way, you can determine the ratio between V and V'

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

ok
