Which of the following best describes what would happen if the offspring of a fragrant, red rose bush produced flowers with no scent and small, pale petals? Answer The offspring would lose its flowers and die from a lack of pollinators. The offspring would not cross-fertilize often with other roses. The offspring would produce seeds by asexual reproduction. The offspring would yield more fruit than the parent rose.

Have you given us all the info the question gave you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm yea

OpenStudy (blues):

A couple items on the list are plainly not true - but without being told the specific interactions between the genes (I assume it is multiple genes) and alleles which govern flower color and scent, a strong case could be made for a couple of the others...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would produce seeds by asexual reproduction?

OpenStudy (blues):

Depending on the wording, maybe or maybe not. Seeds and asexual reproduction do not belong in the same sentence - they are gametes, just as much as sperm and eggs are in animals, and function in sexual reproduction. That said, they are formed through gametogenesis just like any other gamete, not through asexual reproduction. Ambiguous question (or rather, ambiguous possible answers), so I respectfully decline to commit myself to an answer which may be wrong for semantic reasons.

I see, im going to eliminate C. thanks for the help anyways
